My mind, which has a lot of things to say all the time, and is forever distracted, even while attending concerts, says only this at a Ranjani-Gayatri concert – “Wow”. “How Beautiful”. “What a marvel”. And it stays constantly distracted, but only by the present moment!

Christmas Morning. I’m so conditioned to wake up and stand in a line, to book tickets to experience divinity. Well, a morning queue still happened, so there’s that! As soon as I think of Christmas, instead of Santa and carols I think of Ranjani-Gayatri and the best presents – Vagadheeshwari, Vasantha Bhairavi, Surutti! And today? This evergrowing tapestry got studded with another beautiful collection of fine, polished gems.
They began their concert with a brisk varnam, with all the colours and varnams of Sri coming together so beautifully. This was followed by an absolutely high-energy rendition of Sadguru Thyagaraja’s Nada Sudha in Arabhi, powerpacked with swarams to “swaram”ulaaru! How swiftly these accomplished artistes take us to that elevated plane of energy and music, so seamlessly, and every single time, without fail!
