The Blog and the Blogger

Notes on Ra-Ga

About the blog

It all started with a few generous comments on my (blogpost-long) Facebook posts encouraging me to compile them somewhere, because it might be fun to read them later!

Since December Season 2020 happens to mark a decade of my discovering Ranjani Gayatri’s music, and the myriad ways it has changed my life over the years, I felt it would be fitting to complete adding my posts and launch this blog on Christmas Day, the day I witnessed my first live concert of theirs at The Music Academy exactly half a decade ago! Here it is – my little gesture of gratitude, for all the MUSIC over these ten years.

Apart from my notes, the blog also includes some incredible photographs by many amazing rasikas who’ve captured precious musical moments from Ranjani Gayatri concerts on their cameras. For all photographs (and screenshots) that are not mine, the photographer has been credited in the captions. These pictures truly make the blog colourful and I’m indeed grateful to them.

About the blogger

The blogger is a BITS Pilani alumnus who started listening to Ranjani Gayatri’s music during the stressful days of competitive exam preparations. But soon the music took over and became the serendipitous force that guided many choices in his life, from college to career, and other life decisions, small and big. He currently works in Bangalore, at an IT company.

You can find his long posts trying to describe what their music does to his heart on Facebook as soon as the words come to him, and after some delay, on this blog. You can easily spot him during Ranjani Gayatri concerts from his craning neck, widened eyes and eternally dropped jaw. His natural habitats consist of places with good music, laughter, books and chai.

You can follow him here on Facebook to read the long posts first! He also promises to not refer to himself in third person, starting now –
